Netflix Takes the 2030 World Cup Stream in Spain and Andorra

Netflix World Cup 2030 coverage in Spain and Andorra will include every match. Netflix has secured exclusive streaming rights for all 104 matches of the tournament in those two countries.

In this article we set out what is exclusive, and what stays free. Here is everything you need to know.

What the Netflix World Cup 2030 deal covers

The rights are for Spain and Andorra, not a worldwide stream. All 104 matches are in the exclusive streaming package. The tournament is described as historic because it marks 100 years of the World Cup. The hosts named are Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Two free windows sit beside the exclusive stream. One match per matchday will be available free in Spain. Selected key matches will also air on free-to-air television. The report does not say which match each day is the free one, or which broadcaster carries the free-to-air games.

Why it matters

A streaming exclusive usually means a subscription. The free match each matchday, and the free-to-air games, are the part of this deal that does not require Netflix. Both are limited. They are not all 104 matches.

• 104 matches are in the Netflix package
• The countries for those rights are Spain and Andorra
• The hosts are Spain, Portugal and Morocco
• The tournament marks 100 years of the World Cup
• One match per matchday is free in Spain
• Selected key matches also go free-to-air

What is not settled here

1. Which match each matchday is the free one in Spain.
2. Which television channel carries the free-to-air matches.
3. Whether viewers in Pakistan are part of this rights deal. They are not named.
4. The price of a Netflix plan in Spain or Andorra.

What happens next

A schedule of the free match each day would make the exception clear. We will update this article if Netflix or the free-to-air broadcaster publishes that list.

Our verdict
